Traumatic carotid cavernous fistula refers to the internal carotid artery or its branches located in the cavernous sinus, which directly communicates with veins due to traumatic rupture, forming arteriovenous fistula, which is often caused by skull base fracture, and the incidence rate in craniocerebral injury is about 2.5%.
