thymic small cell carcinoma

Small cell carcinoma of the thymus (thymic oat cell carcinoma) is less common. Small cell carcinoma of the thymus shows invasive growth and is prone to distant metastasis. Thymic small cell carcinoma often occurs at the same time as endocrine tumors in other organs of the body, that is, multiple neuroendocrine tumors (MEN) type I syndrome.
