Symptoms of Schistosoma cercariae dermatitis

Typical symptoms: pruritus, followed by erythema miliaria, papules and herpes papules, with obvious infiltration and redness around the area, wind masses may appear after scratching, severe itching and petechia on the top of the skin lesions, which are traces of cercariae burrowing

Related symptoms: Skin bleeding, fever, skin atrophy and hyperpigmentation

1. Symptoms

The diagnosis can be made based on the onset season, the history of exposure to rice paddy water, typical skin damage, and no other symptoms of generalized fever after the skin pigmentation has subsided except for the remaining local skin pigmentation.
