Symptoms of tinea mentosa

Typical symptoms: The damage boundary is clear, with desquamation in the center and mild suppurative folliculitis pustules around. Slow nodules occur, gradually develop and merge with each other, which can form ulcers, with extensive local infiltration, obvious skin inflammation, conscious itching, and tenderness in deep type. Stubborn in nature, it often lasts for a long time

I. Symptoms

It is more common in one side of neck and mandibular beard. The clinical manifestation is mainly fungal folliculitis located at the mouth of hair follicles in one neck and beard, which can be divided into two types clinically:

Superficial type: similar to tinea corporis. The damage boundary is clear, with desquamation in the center and slight suppurative folliculitis pustules around it. The beard of the affected part is dry and loose, often broken and falling off.

Deep type: similar to psoriasis. The lesion is a slow nodule, which develops gradually and merges with each other, and can form ulcer, with extensive local infiltration and obvious skin inflammation. The beard is loose and easy to pull out, and pus can be discharged when pressing the hair follicle mouth.

Consciously have itching feeling, and those who are deep in type have tenderness. Stubborn in nature, it often lasts for a long time.

Second, diagnosis

According to the clinical manifestations, fungal folliculitis mainly located in one side of the neck and hair follicle mouth of the beard, the diagnosis can be confirmed by direct microscopic examination, culture and fluorescence examination of the diseased beard and pus.
