Congenital nasopharyngeal stenosis and atresia symptoms

Typical symptoms: neonatal nasal congestion, dyspnea, cyanosis, aggravation during lactation and other symptoms of complete nasal blockage. Examination of pharynx shows that there is a membrane connecting the posterior edge of soft palate with the posterior wall of pharynx, with smooth surface and soft touch.

Related symptoms: dyspnea, nasal congestion, cyanosis and nasopharyngeal stenosis

I. Symptoms:

It is characterized by nasal congestion, dyspnea, cyanosis and aggravation of nasal cavity during lactation. Examination of the pharynx can be seen between the posterior edge of the soft palate and the posterior wall of the pharynx with a thin film connected, smooth surface and soft touch.

Put cotton hair in front of nostrils without airflow blowing. After the nasal mucosa is converged with vasoconstrictor, it cannot be inserted into pharynx from nasal cavity with thin catheter or probe. Drop methylene blue into nasal cavity and cannot enter pharynx. Nasal lipiodol radiography can determine the location of stenosis and atresia.
