Primary macroglobulinemia was first reported by Waldenstrom in 1944, so it is also called Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia (WM). This disease is a syndrome of increased monoclonal IgM with lymphoid cell proliferation and sometimes glomerular damage. Its clinical features are lymph node enlargement, hepatosplenomegaly, lymphocytes and plasma in bone marrow and lymph nodes.
