oropharyngeal adhesion

Oropharyngeal adhesion is caused by scar tissue adhesion between soft palate, pharyngeal arch and tongue base. The most common adhesion is adhesion between tongue base and pharyngeal arch, and its etiology is similar to nasopharyngeal adhesion. It often occurs after tonsillectomy.
