Brief introduction of laryngeal cancer

Laryngeal carcinoma (carcinoma of larynx) is a common malignant tumor, its incidence rate is about 1 ~ 5% of the whole body tumors, and it ranks third only to nasopharyngeal carcinoma and nasal cavity and paranasal sinus carcinoma in otolaryngology. The prone age is 50 ~ 70 years old. Males are more common than females, about 8: 1, with the highest incidence in Northeast China, North China and East China. The cause of the disease is not very clear, but almost all patients have a long history of smoking. Symptoms vary according to the vocal location of cancer. Hoarseness can occur in the early stage of vocal cord cancer, while in the early stage of supraglottic cancer, pharyngeal discomfort or foreign body freezing and pain are often not obvious, which is easy to delay diagnosis. In the late stage, obvious hoarseness, throat singing, shortness of breath, dyspnea, pain, dysphagia, neck mass and neck lymph node enlargement may occur.
