Brief introduction of fire-induced erythema

Fire-induced erythema (erythema ab igne), also known as heat-induced erythema, is a persistent telangiectatic reticular erythema caused by repeated exposure of local skin to high temperature stimulation which is not enough to cause burns. Sometimes the pigment increases obviously, which is called fire-induced reticular pigmentation. This disease is similar to the "fire sore" recorded in the Chinese medical literature, such as the fire sore recorded in Surgical Qixuan: avoiding cold from fire, burning skin for a long time, sore caused by internal heat, sweating and pain.
