Histopathology: Monomorphic histiocytes and a few lymphocytes were found in the papillary layer of dermis and the middle dermis. There are no multinucleated giant cells. Nucleus chromatin is scarce, cytoplasm is abundant and light stained, and cytoplasm boundary is unclear. These cells are often nested around blood vessels. Immunohistochemistry showed that S-100 protein and CD1a (OKT-6) were negative, CD-11b and CD-4 were positive in infiltrating cells. Ultramicroscopic examination showed that tumor cells contained a large number of clusters of dense and regular lamellar bodies, occasionally insect-like bodies, and no Birbeck granules. Lipid staining of tissue cells was negative.
