elderly aspiration pneumonia

Aspiration pneumonia mainly refers to the pulmonary inflammatory disease caused by the secretions of the mouth, nasopharynx and the reflux from the stomach and esophagus that are inhaled by mistake in the lower respiratory tract, reaching the alveoli and the terminal respiratory tract. Inhalation is the most common way for pathogenic microorganisms to enter the lower respiratory tract, so aspiration pneumonia accounts for a large proportion of senile pneumonia.
