how to diagnose and differentiate intraspinal meningioma

Confusing diseases: schwannoma neurofibroma

Differential diagnosis of intraspinal meningiomas

It is difficult to distinguish meningioma from schwannoma and neurofibroma. The tumor is located on the dorsal side of the thoracic segment, and the sagittal tumor has a large upper and lower diameter. Meningiomas should be considered for calcification in the tumor. The possibility of meningiomas should also be considered when the tumor is located in the foramen magnum area. If the tumor causes the expansion of the intervertebral foramen and grows outside the spinal canal along the intervertebral foramen, neurofibromas or schwannoma should be considered.
