1. Alcoholic fatty liver should be differentiated from obesity, drug-induced, malnourished fatty liver, etc. Diabetes and Reye’s syndrome are often associated with fatty liver.

2. To distinguish the history of drinking from viral hepatitis, the epidemiological history AST/ALT ratio>1, specific serology, liver histology examination can be used to distinguish.

3. Cholestatic alcoholic liver disease should be differentiated from surgical acute abdomen. The former often has elevated serum γ-GTP and elevated AKP, and the liver can be significantly retracted after the hepatomegaly stops drinking.
