acute laryngitis

Acute laryngitis is an acute catarrhal inflammation of laryngeal mucosa, which is often secondary to acute rhinitis, sinusitis and acute pharyngitis. It is a part of the whole upper respiratory tract infection and can also occur alone. Sometimes shouting, excessive use of throat and severe cough can also cause acute laryngitis. If it occurs in children, the condition is more serious.
